The Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County is one of the world's finest regions for the production of Zinfandel. Grist Vineyard is a dry-farmed Zin vineyard which produces excellent fruit year-in and year-out. We aim for elegance in our Zinfandels, with a balance of the spicy red berry fruit, acidity, tannins, and mild oak influence. The 2007 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a young and completely delicious bright garnet red with rich fresh blackberry and raspberry fruit, perfectly balanced with subtle French oak spice. It is drinking beautifully now, and will age gracefully for five to eight years. This Bordeaux-style blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon from Ink Grade Vineyard on Howell Mountain, with 8% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec and 2% Merlot providing color, depth, and complexity.
